Mind That Childminder

“Mind that Childminder, the podcast that’s meant, for well us Childminders!”

There are lots of early years podcasts out there doing a wonderful job of supporting settings and getting ideas out there on how to support and develop children and settings. However Charlotte felt that although Childminders were often included by being mentioned as roles that could use these ideas, they weren’t really tailoring for the unique things that home based settings might face.

Charlotte feels that although Childminders should be seen as equal to all other early years settings, it doesn’t mean we should be just swept in and treated exactly the same. That is why she has created a podcast that focuses on the unique aspects of Childminding.

The podcast acts as a resource for new ideas and putting theories into practice, but also to combat feelings of isolation that Childminders often face. Charlotte helps you to recognise the amazing and inspiring work of Childminders (yes, that includes you), but also is here to say that your experiences that are unique to Childminding are valid.

“Mind that Childminder” doesn’t just mean that the sector and society should take notice of the meaningful work of childminders, but also means that Childminders need to look after themselves and others. The podcast looks at not only early years topics, news and activities but also mindfulness in ways that will help you to protect and value yourself.

Charlotte is not a therapist, and does not pretend to be, but she is wise, passionate and wants Childminding to be future proofed. She wants to make sure humanity is at the heart of her work and doesn’t want to shy away from celebratory or hard topics. Charlotte always actively promotes seeking professional help and support and to always look at the legal frameworks in place for your area.
